1.    What was it that caused Her’s father to go bowling a second time?

 

            It was the emotional closeness that he felt . The relationship he was creating with his children again made him come back because it was lost for a long time. Also, bowling made him see new alternatives to live life. A different from the one he was born into but a new one that threw him into different experiences he was missing.

 

2.         Do you agree with Her that it must have been “frightening” for her father to live with children who had adopted American culture and an American lifestyle? In a sentence or two explain how he must have felt.

 

            Yes, because he didn't  grew up in an american culture. He was foreign to the way people raise their kids in America than the way he was raised.

 

 

Essay

 

 

            Since I have started college it’s been getting harder and harder to maintain the close relationship I have with my best friends. It has really been a struggle for me to juggle school, sports, parents and friends. Since I started college I have fallen into an agenda that prevents me from going out with my friends and going days or even months without talking to them. This has affected  our relationship because when we do have time to catch up we don’t know where to even start.

 

            I have realized that it really is important to find a way to not let this friendships decay. College is stuff and a lot of times you just need that friend to hear you out. We need to slow down and remind ourselves to make time for those who have been there

for us.One thing college does if we don’t pay attention is distance people from each other. We need to be observant and start to make adjustments.

 

            There are so many ways to strengthen those relationships. In this era the internet is everywhere. It doesn’t hurt to send a text once in a while to let them know I haven’t forgotten about them. Or even better, call them to chat for a bit. Also, I could definitely make time in my agenda and go out with my friends. Not only to have a good time but to blow out some steam. Sometimes I forget that school is not everything my world goes around. Relationships are important and should be made into a priority also.
